Shan community is angered by the government’s efforts to assist the Wa, a group responsible for criminal and terrorist activities. The relocation program, which is helping Wa people from the Chinese border to resettle in the townships adjoining Thailand, has displaced about 2,000 families in the area, mostly Shan and Akha.
