At an international conference on children’s rights, Taiwan’s president was presented with a petition letter from an indigenous Tawu (Yami) high school student, requesting for an early removal of nuclear waste from the southeastern Taiwan. The president assured that certain steps would be taken to free the environment of nuclear waste and to improve lives of indigenous Tawu.
