On March 3-6, the complete Guatemala Radio Project team met for three days in Antigua, Guatemala, for intensive planning and staff development sessions, along with the celebration of Cultural Survival's five years' involvement with community radio.
The project is now entering into a second stage of development, with a fresh set of objectives and renewed enthusiasm.
"Never did we think an international organization would take an interest in us," said Anselmo Xunic (Kakchiquel), of Radio Ixchel, Sumpango Sacatepequez. "But Cultural helps us with getting the law approved, holding workshops with women and young people, and carrying out different activities. Cultural Survival has brought harmony to the communtiy radio stations in Guatemala, by uniting them."
