The Asociación Unión de Mujeres Aymaras del Abya Yala (Union of Aymara Women) strengthens the active participation of women and the community in five thematic areas: intercultural communication; political participation of the people; promotion and defense of human rights; respect for Mother Earth; and economic activities supporting Indigenous Peoples.
The main objective of their project, “Strengthening Aymara Communication through the Wiñay Panqara Radio Program, Always Flourishing,” is to strengthen communication in the Aymara language via the processes of the community. The activities focused on the broadcasting of radio programs under the name “Wiñay Panqara” (Always Flourishing), a song and poetry contest highlighting the importance of respect and care for Pachamama, and communication workshops aimed at training Indigenous Aymara communicators.
