NUNAVUT: Eleven Inuit complete training for Royal Canadian Mounted Police

Eleven Inuit residents of Nunavut, the Canadian territory created in 1999, finished a six-month training program for entry into the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Though all 11 successfully graduated from the training program, nine narrowly missed passing the entrance exam given last January, and will return home to study and retake the test. The other two will join the RCMP immediately. Nunavut Premier Paul Okalik called them “role models for our young people in Nunavut.”
