July got off to a busy start for the Cultural Survival Community Radio Project, with two workshops held in the Mujb'abl' Yol training center in San Mateo, Quetzaltenango. The first workshop was focused on preparations for the upcoming International Day of Indigenous Peoples, on August 9th. Twenty-five volunteers from seventeen radio stations worked together to produce radio spots on Indigenous rights to practice Mayan spirituality, to speak native languages, and express Mayan culture. Each station will broadcast the spots on the air leading up to the date.
