Community organizers are coming together to get an Indigenous Peoples Day resolution passed in Boston to recognize the true history of the city and honor the continued resiliency of Indigenous communities in Boston today.

Tatuado con Espinas - Colectivo Asho’ojushi
Como un cuentacuentos que tiene a la niñez de la comunidad alrededor, les contaré algunas anécdotas sobre nuestro proyecto “Tatuado con espinas”. Un proyecto que no solo ha instaurado una conversación en mi pueblo, sino que también me ha provisto de un nuevo camino para entender la medicina Wayuu, la memoria y la defensa territorial marcada en la piel.

Our Indigenous Youth Fellowship Program supports young Indigenous leaders between the ages of 17-28, who are eager to learn about technology, program development, journalism, community radio, media, and Indigenous Peoples’ rights advocacy. Since 2018, we have awarded 110 fellowships supporting 204 fellows.

Radio Mattoli, a community radio station in Dwaraka, located in the Wayanad district of Kerala, India, won the award for best thematic radio program by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The station was recognized for having the best quality and most relevant and timely coverage of climate mitigation and Indigenous practices out of 448 community radio stations in India. The award was presented to Radio Mattoli on July 23, 2023.
The Regional Agreement on Access to Information, Public Participation and Justice in Environmental Matters in Latin America and the Caribbean, better known as the Escazú Agreement (named after the city in Costa Rica where it was adopted), is the first binding regional environmental agreement.
