Nigger Creek and North Nigger Creek in Wondecla, Queensland, were recently renamed Wondecla and North Wondecla Creek, for culturally sensitive reasons. A North Queensland Council, however, opposes the renaming, claiming that the previous names were a testimony to the dark history of the region.
