The Mambana Aquaculture and Discovery centre in Broome is the first of its kind. The centre plans to return 36 million shellfish and trochus back to the ocean and boasts a new discovery center, which teaches the importance of water in Aboriginal culture. The joint fishery and aquaculture center has been drawing much interest form neighboring regions.
