In the study, researchers from the Harvard Project on American Indian Economic
Development analyzed a decade of U.S. census material to evaluate Indian Country's
income levels, education, and housing, reported Indianz.com. The per capita
income rose 36 percent on gaming reservations but only 21 percent on reservations
without casinos. The median household income on reservations with casinos increased
35 percent, but only 14 percent on non-gaming reservations.
