The purpose of the Bojaba Beaches Reserve collective is to strengthen the capacity of U’wa communities, territories, and people to strengthen and preserve their traditions through trainings and workshops, the promotion of art and culture, and recreation and sports. The thematic areas of the environment, women, families, human rights, free expression, and traditional medicine are addressed collectively by young leaders, women, and Elders.
Their project, "Strengthening Indigenous Voices: Weaving of Life and Knowledge of the U’wa People," seeks to preserve and revitalize the ancestral knowledge of the U’wa community by integrating traditional practices in the areas of health, education, and spirituality. Through intergenerational workshops, community meetings, and weaving activities, the project fosters dialogue between Elders and youth, strengthening cultural identity and promoting the transmission of knowledge. This initiative has a profound impact on protecting the community’s cultural heritage while also reinforcing social cohesion and a sense of belonging, which are essential for facing contemporary challenges.
