Radio Fe y Alegría Paraguaipoa 92.3 FM (Wayuu)

Community radio station Radio Fe y Alegría Paraguaipoa 92.3 FM focuses on the promotion and preservation of the ancestral culture of the Wayuu People to strengthen their cultural, national, and regional identity with intercultural practices under the approach of buen vivir (good living). The station also serves as a source of education for youth and adults who are not in school.

Their project, “Wauya wakuwaipamajatu” (Seeds of Identity), created meeting spaces for young women between the ages of 15-25 to revitalize the meaning of kanasü e'inuush (woven geometric figures). The kanasü e'inuush are woven onto colorful sashes and incorporated into chinchorros, bags, belts, tapestries, and hats, among other accessories. They are used to highlight and identify the Wayuu Peoples’ worldview, spirituality, and social class, a way of communicating identity through art. Face-to-face meetings were held in the Paraguaipoa and Guarero communities in Venezuela, which led to the production and dissemination of podcasts for radio and social media.
