The main objective of Alyansa Tigil Mina is to raise awareness about the environmental and social impacts of large-scale mining and other development projects on Indigenous lands. This will be achieved by providing training and resources to community members, especially youth and women, to create and share engaging media content that highlights their experiences and perspectives. Workshops, community dialogues, and collaborative media production will amplify Indigenous stories and cultural preservation and advocate for sustainable development practices that respect both the environment and Indigenous rights.
The project aims to provide comprehensive training on environmental issues, advocacy techniques, and media production, equipping participants with the skills necessary to create impactful content that raises public awareness about conservation and the effects of large-scale mining. With a strong emphasis on gender inclusion, the project ensures that at least 50% of participants are young Indigenous women and fosters leadership through a dedicated Women's Working Group. By incorporating Indigenous language preservation into the curriculum, the project strengthens cultural heritage while amplifying the voices of Indigenous communities. The long-term impact of this initiative is to sustain advocacy efforts, train future leaders, and contribute significantly to the protection of the environment and preservation of the community's natural resources.
