Tewdufm Community Radio is focused on providing information centered on the local community. It raises awareness about education, women's and children's empowerment, human rights, equal opportunities and gender equality, maternal and child health, and the fight against HIV/AIDS. The station promotes stories on local culture and traditions, the environment and climate change, and especially facilitates women's access to the media. The overall objective is to strengthen local community organizations by improving access to, and the flow of, information within communities that value their cultural and natural heritage in a transboundary space.
Their project, "For the Survival and Preservation of Local Traditions in Fouladou,” aims to preserve, protect, and promote the practices, traditions, and customs of local communities of minority groups in the region. The project is timely, as modern cultures threaten to eclipse minority communities in their own lands. This is a cultural struggle led by the media along with Indigenous communities that will have repercussions at both the cultural and societal levels. Female leadership will be strengthened as women and youth become increasingly involved in political decisions. In addition, authentic culture will be better protected and supported by radio, which, through its programs, gives people a voice, promotes social and traditional values, and records, digitizes, and disseminates them.
