Historically, Cultural Survival’s mission has always been to partner with organizations that protect and advocate for Indigenous people who are victims of racism and discriminatory practices.
The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, a day that the UN declared necessary and vital over 40 years ago, is, unfortunately, still a mainstay in the present landscape of many nations, including the United States. We must recognize the relationship between racism, oppression, and conflict that undergirds conflict in every part of the world as a deeply hurtful, shameful, and negative historical legacy and that continues to perpetuate itself structurally, collectively, and individually with each new generation. It is our responsibility in all of our work to intentionally and deliberately seek the end of racism in all its toxic forms.
At Cultural Survival, we join in the call for an end to racial discrimination and take responsibility to work towards ending it.
