This terse but powerful program provides a first hand look at the conditions of life in Halabja, a small village in northern Iraq which was carpeted with nerve gas laden bombs ten years ago under Saddam Hussein's orders in response to the village's support of Iran during the Iraq-Iran war. International relief agencies had launched no investigations into the current medical needs of the Kurdish controlled town until a British physician decided the time had come to attract attention to the tragic story which had remained untold for so long. This program documents part of the physician's time in Halabja, focusing on the severe genetic alterations the nerve gas has caused and the morose implications these mutations have for future generations in the village.
