Reina is from the town of San Mateo, Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. She has been working at the Doble Via radio station since it opened, for just about a year. On her radio show, which she hosts three times a week for two hours, Reina plays music, and speaks on topics that are important to her and her community. Those issues include women's issues, health, and the prevention of child labor, which has become a major problem in neighboring urban area of Xela, where Reina earns a living as a domestic worker. For Reina, working in the community radio station helps her follow her dream of being a professional radio broadcaster.
