NIGERIA: Government to investigate Bauchi murders

In response to the recent abduction and murder of six Bauchi State indigenes in Langtang, strong condemnations have been issued from all levels of government and an investigation has been launched by the Plateau State Police. The Ponzhi Taroh called for an emergency meeting on June 7 of all Langtang chiefs, title holders and ‘eminent sons’ of Taroh land to help prevent any similar incidents in the future. At the moment some of the Taroh militia members in North Plateau are being investigated in connection with the killings whose leader, Emmanuel Ndam, blames the Plateau state government’s lack of security in the area.
