Tomorrow’s vote in the Senate could reverse Obama’s decision and greenlight construction of the Keystone XL pipeline. Native communities across the US and Canada have joined together over recent months in opposition to the Keystone pipeline. Together, they drafted the Mother Earth Accord, a statement by Native and First Nations groups who would be affected by the pipeline. The document was presented to President Obama in 2011, who finally acted to reject the pipeline in late January.
